History and origin of the name
The station was opened on November 3, 1984 , as part of the launch site of the line C “Nadraž Holešovice” - “Florenz”. The station received its modern name from the railway station and bus station of the same name. Until 1990, it was called Fučíkova, in honor of the Czechoslovak writer and political activist Julius Fucik .
2002 Flood
The station was the first in the Prague metro to be affected by flooding in the summer of 2002. By the end of 2002, the station was resumed.
Track Development
Behind the station is a six-turn reverse dead end. During the construction of tunnels to the Ládví station, the dead end tunnel was lengthened and deepened.
