- Sintering of germanium (IV) oxide and lead (II) oxide :
Physical Properties
Lead metagermanate forms crystals upon slow cooling from a temperature of 800 ° C to 650 ° C. With rapid cooling from 1000 ° C, an amorphous mass forms.
Lead germanates of a different composition were obtained: Pb 3 GeO 5 (temp. Pl. 738 ° C), Pb 5 Ge 3 O 11 (temp. Pl. 738 ° C).
Crystalline lead germanates are not soluble in dilute sulfuric acid, in contrast to the amorphous state.
