Content
Background
After a match between Rybek and John Cena at Extreme Rules ended in a draw, Rybek arrived in the ambulance at the Monday Night Raw arena on May 20 and announced that he would face WWE champion John Cina in the “shove the enemy in ambulance” match at WWE Payback He later attacked Zach Ryder and threw him into the same ambulance he came to send a message to Sina. On May 27 at Monday Night Raw, Sina accepted Rybek’s challenge for the WWE championship, but put forward his conditions. The match will consist of 3 circles of hell: 1. Match with lumberjacks. 2. The match with the tables. 3. The match "shove the enemy into the ambulance" [3] . After Sina put forward his conditions for the match, Raibek came out and also agreed to the conditions of Sina.
On May 27, on Raw, Chris Jericho had a segment with Paul Heyman as a guest, where he asked Heyman about one of his clients, the absence of SM Punk since April, and much, as in his enmity at the beginning of last year, Chris Jericho argued with Heyman which of them was "the best in the world." To put this argument, Chris Jericho challenged Punk on WWE Payback , Hayman accepts the challenge on behalf of Punk. On June 3, on Monday Night Raw, a contract was signed for the match between SM Punk and Chris Jericho on a pay-per-view Payback, on behalf of Punk, the contract was signed by Paul Hayman. After the contract was signed by both Hayman and Jericho, Chris slipped the contract into Paul’s pants, saying that there was a place for him.
On May 20th, at the Smackdown show , Meez attacked Fandango during his Intercontinental Championship title match against Wade Barrett . During the match between Barrett and Fandango, WWE fans voted for Mies to be the special guest referee for the match. Barrett pushed Miz, for which Mies attacked him, thereby helping Fandango hold the hold. But then after the fight, Miz continued to attack Fandango. Since Miz still had his right to a rematch, after losing the title to WrestleMania, he decided to hold it on the Payback show, so the Triple Threat match between Miz, Barrett and Fandango was supposed to take place at the event. Since June 7, at Smackdown, Fandango suffered a concussion, so he was suspended from the Payback match, and Curtis Axel took his place.
On Monday Night Raw 's June 10th, Vicki Guerrero announced that Randy Orton and Daniel Brian would fight for WWE team titles against Shield A ( Seth Rollins and Roman Raines ). She also said that Kane will fight against Dean Emrose for the title of champion of the United States . On the same issue of Raw, AJ (via Big And Langston ) attacked Caitlin , leading to a WWE Payback match for the Div title.
After winning Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules 2013 in a match against Jack Swagger , Del Rio became the No. 1 challenger for the heavyweight title.

Reviews
Before the start of the show, The Baltimore Sun columnist called the fight between SM Punk and Chris Jericho the main fight of the evening and suggested that it would be Punk's successful comeback after a long absence. He also made the assumption that Sina would be able to win the match, as well as Ziggler , Axel, Ambrose, Shield, AJ and Shimus [8] .
The Sun newspaper columnist Phill Ellie praised the show itself and noted that the new generation of WWE superstars performed well on it, having won several champion titles. However, Ziggler's loss of the world heavyweight title was unexpected for him. The dark match between Shimus and Damien Sandow laid a good start for the show, the Shield group continued its ascent to WWE, defending team and solitary belts. The fight between SM Punk and Chris Jericho, as expected, was the best match of the evening, in which Jericho again could not achieve a big victory for himself. The main event of the evening, the match between John Cena and Rybek , was not as bad as many had expected. At the end of the review, the critic noted: “In general, despite certain problems and a dull main event, the show left a good impression and it would be interesting to observe the further development of Axel and Shield in WWE” [9] .
