A snail named Theo wants to be a racer. Meanwhile, French racer Guy Gagnet, who wins the Indy 500 for the fifth consecutive time, is shown on television, but his brother calls Theo to sleep. The next day they go to the factory. Crows take away one snail, and it turns out that the price of life is not so high. That day, when the tomato fell on the lawn, Theo competed with a lawn mower. But the snails, seeing that it can be crushed, pull Theo out with a garden hose.

Chet explains that a snail cannot be fast. At night, Theo looks at the highway, and suddenly a passing truck throws a snail on the highway. Theo falls on the hood of a racing car and accidentally gets inside the car, where he gets automobile abilities, becoming a high-speed snail. The next day, coming to work, he tries to figure out new abilities, but accidentally appears in front of a boy who loves to crush insects on his bicycle. He wants to crush the snail, but Theo, thanks to his new abilities, managed to avoid it. In an attempt to catch up with Theo, the boy crashes into a fence.

Thus, Theo slides onto the wheel of the bicycle and begins to roll on the wheel, frightening the boy. By accident, his bicycle crashed into a garden, and because of this incident, Theo and Chet were fired from work. Chet explains that all his life he covered his brother’s back, and he allowed him to leave him without work. Then the crows abduct Chet, but Theo saves him, and the latter begins to think that he was dead. Theo and his brother are caught by a taco worker (“ Dos Bros Tacos ”) Tito and taken to snail races.

There are already snails. They believe that they are super-fast, but they move, as it turned out during the race, like ordinary snails. The snail team consisted of snails named Burn (the only snail girl on this team), White Shadow, Skid, Steep Turn and Whip. Theo gave the nickname "Garden". During the race he blew the track, coming first. After that, Theo gets the best bed made from a napkin holder, and the blanket from tortilla. The next day, Tito, having not received the support of his elder brother Angelo, adds an inscription about running snails on the Dos bros tacos poster, since Tito thought that this brought their establishment popularity, but the idea failed.

One day, a Guy Gagnier truck with an inscription about the Indy 500 race rides past their establishment. ” Theo shows his owner that he wants to participate there. Tito agrees and tells Angelo about his intention, however, to participate in the race, you need a contribution of $ 20 thousand. Tito and Angelo argue in parallel with Theo and Chet, and Chet quotes Angelo. Tito is trying to find support from neighboring enterprises, but they also do not believe in him. At one point, a team of snails lures a sightseeing bus, piercing him with wheels, thereby helping to make a profit. Tito types a team, takes the money and leaves.

By this time, Theo already has authority among snails, which can not be said about Chet, who does not lose hope of convincing a dreamer brother. Angelo finds out about the loss of money and brother .. On the way to Indianapolis , snails tell people the nickname for Theo. Also on his shell put on a tuning cover. At the Indy 500, they first disapprove of the application and laugh at the fact that the rider is a snail. But when Turbo shows 226 mph (for comparison, winner Guy Gagnier has 230), everyone’s opinions begin to change. This forces the race president to skip the snail for the competition, despite the initial desire not to.

The long-awaited race begins, but Turbo at the very beginning feels tired, but still tries his best. Gagnier does not want the snail to get ahead of him, and by the last lap he is trying to catch up, arranging a strong accident, while damaging the turbo shell cover. When Theo wakes up, he sees the finish line. However, it cannot accelerate, as its shell is damaged. Snails come to his aid and help him to get "snail steps."

Seeing this, Gagne tries to catch up with Theo on a damaged car, but he does not succeed. Theo reaches the finish line, hiding inside the shell, as Ganye is trying to crush him.

In the final scene, the race between the snails is shown, where Tito gives the new tuning cover to Theo, whose shell has already recovered.

The moment after the credits: Theo watches TV, where he sees himself in the results of the race and after a few words decides to relax a bit.
