Malaya Sopcha is a former working settlement in the Monchegorsk district of the Murmansk region of the RSFSR . It was located near the town of Monchegorsk , at the foot of Mount Sopchuaivench [1] .
The village of Malaya Sopcha appeared in 1935 as a settlement of special settlers engaged in the construction of the city of Monchegorsk, miners and dressers of the Severonikel combine. In 1937 a concrete plant was built in the village [1] . In 1938, the village had 236 inhabitants [1] . On August 27, 1939, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, he was transformed into a working village in the Monchegorsk district of the Murmansk region [2] . In 1941, 123 special immigrants lived in the village [1] . In 1942–1949, a factory-factory training school No. 2 (vocational school No. 1) worked in the village [1] . The decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR of August 14, 1957 was abolished [2] . By the decision of the Murmansk Regional Executive Committee of September 5, 1958, Malaya Sopcha and other settlements of the Malo-Sopchinsky City Council were included in the city boundary of Monchegorsk [2] . In the 1960s - 1970s , all residents were relocated to the central part of Monchegorsk, and most of the buildings were demolished [1] .
