Cafe "Four cats" ( cat. Els Quatre Gats ) - a bohemian cafe in the medieval quarter of Barcelona , opened in 1897 in the image and likeness of the Parisian " Black Cat " [1] .

Originally included a small hotel and a cabaret. Most notably, his regular guests were Pablo Picasso and his famous friend Antonio Gaudi , the sculptor Julio González and the composer Isaac Albéniz, and many other talents of the “ beautiful era ." In 1900, the cafe held the first two solo exhibitions of works by Picasso.
The cafe is located on a narrow street in the Gothic Quarter , open from one o'clock until one o'clock in the evening, the pianist plays in the evenings. At one time such famous composers as Isaac Albeniz and Enrique Granados performed in this capacity.
During the reign of Franco, the cafe building was demolished, but in the 1970s. it was completely restored in its original form as part of a program to increase the attractiveness of Barcelona for tourists.
