DescriptionThis arthropod had four eyes. The body length was about 5 centimeters [1] . The body consisted of eleven segments. In front, leanhoiliia had a pair of limbs resembling tentacles. Sometimes organs were also found inside the bodies found [2] .
FindLike many other representatives of the Cambrian life, leanhoiliia was discovered in the Burgess shale in the Canadian Rockies by the American paleontologist Charles Walcott in 1912 [1] .
ClassificationCurrently, two types of leanhoilias are distinguished:
- Leanchoilia superlata
- Leanchoilia persephone Simonetta
As for the second species, some scientists believe that the differences between the two species are just an example of sexual dimorphism [3] .
