Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute

KGHI was opened in 1987 to train specialists in Western and Eastern Siberia, the Far East, and northern territories.

The Institute has two faculties: academic and arts and crafts. The training is conducted in six specialties: painting, graphics, sculpture, art ceramics, graphic design, interior art, environmental design. In the structure of the departments there are 12 creative workshops.

Since 1996, the rector of the institute is Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, full member of the Russian Academy of Arts , Professor A. A. Pokrovsky .

The system of art education in Krasnoyarsk has a full cycle, including children's art schools of the region, Krasnoyarsk Art College named after V.I. Surikova, Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute, creative workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts, regional branch of PAX. The activities of the FSBEI HPE Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute are closely related to the development strategy of art education in Siberia. At present, KGHI is the curator of secondary specialized educational institutions of the cities: Novosibirsk , Chelyabinsk , Barnaul , Novoaltaysk , Tomsk , Kyzyl , Irkutsk , Chita , Yakutsk , Krasnoyarsk .

During the period from 1987 to 2012, the CGI prepared 787 graduates.
