Nasso street

Nasso Street runs through Financial District . In the south, the street originates from the intersection of Broad Street Wall Street , limited to Spruce Street in the north.

Initially, the street was called Kip Street ( English Kip Street ) [1] . It got its current name until 1696 in honor of the Dutch prince Willem van Oranje-Nassau , who in 1689 became king of England, Scotland and Ireland [2] . From the 1860s to the 1970s, Nasso Street was the core of the so-called “ Stamp District ”: there were many postage stamp factories on the street [3] [4] . Also on the street at different times were many newspaper publishers . Among them were the New York Tribune , [5] The New York Times (building 113, now demolished) [6] and the New York Herald [7] .

Part of the street north of Wall Street is closed to traffic [8] . The nearest metro stations to Nasso Street are Broad Street ( J ) and Fulton Street ( A , C , J ) [9] .
