(3691) Bede ( lat. Maera ) is a small near-earth asteroid from the Amur ( II ) group , which is characterized by an extremely slow rotation period of more than 9 days. It was opened on March 29, 1982 by the Chilean astronomer LE González at the Cerro El Roble Observatory and is named after a Benedictine monk who wrote the first works on the history of England , known as Bede Hon. [1] .
