Biography
Born on June 16, 1923 (according to other sources - July 16 [3] ) in the village of Issyk-Ata near the resort town “Arashan” (now in Issyk-Ata district , Chui oblast , Kyrgyzstan ).
After the arrest and exile, his father and his family were expelled to Ukraine , where he seriously began to study music - plays the guitar in an amateur orchestra, and later on percussion instruments. In 1938 , having lived for almost eight years in Ukraine, he returned to his homeland, went to study at the preparatory department of the pedagogical college and at the same time worked as an artist in the orchestra of the first Kyrgyz Music and Drama Theater (now the A. Muldybaev National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater ).
In September 1941 , the USSR State Symphony Orchestra was evacuated to Frunze (now Bishkek ), where Asankhan played percussion instruments [4] .
Member of World War II , was seriously wounded and shell-shocked.
In 1944 , after being dismissed from the army, he was an artist of the orchestra of the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater. A. Maldybaev .
In 1945 - 1948 he studied at the Faculty of Conducting at the National Studio at the Moscow Conservatory , in 1957 he graduated from the Conservatory in the conducting class (teachers L.M. Ginzburg and B.E. Khaikin ). As a student at the conservatory, he conducted a student orchestra.
Since 1948 - conductor of the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater. A. Maldybaev, in 1958 - 1962 and in 1972 - 1983 - the main conductor of the theater [5] .
From 1953 to 1957 - chief conductor of the theater. Moscow City Council .
In 1962 - 1972 - artistic director and chief conductor of the State Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments. Karamoldo Orozova, since 1970 - artistic director and chief conductor of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Kyrgyz Radio and Television (now the Kyrgyz Television and Radio Company).
Since 1989 - chief conductor of the State Chamber Orchestra "Nasyykat".
He toured a lot, often performed in the largest cities of the former USSR, abroad: Sweden , Iceland , Germany , Japan , Mongolia , China , Turkey , etc.
Conducted by the All-Union Radio and Television Grand Symphony Orchestra , the Moscow Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra , State Symphony Orchestras of Latvia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan , Uzbekistan .
Since 1995 - Professor of the Kyrgyz Conservatory named after K. Moldobasanova . For many years of creative activity, he trained many professional musicians-orchestra students.
He led a lot of public work: he was president of the Union of Musical Figures of the Kyrgyz Republic (since 1987), vice-president of the International Union of Musical Figures, president of the Kyrgyz branch of the International Academy of Creativity.
Asankhan Dzhumakhmatov died on July 20, 2008 (according to other sources - July 21 [6] ) in Bishkek [7] . He was buried in Ala-Archa cemetery .
