It is part of the Krasavinsky rural settlement [1] , from the point of view of administrative-territorial division - in the Krasavinsky village council.
The village is located on the right bank of the Northern Dvina , while almost all the settlements of the Krasavinsky rural settlement are located on the right bank. The distance by road to the regional center of Veliky Ustyug is 24 km.
According to the 2002 census, the population was 14 people [2] . In 2005, all residents of Gorky and the neighboring village of Medvedka moved to a new house in Vasilyevskoye and since then the villages have been empty [3] .
