Geography

It is located 450 kilometers northwest of the center of the nasleg Chersky on the right bank of the Alazey River.

History

The village was founded in 1940 with the creation of the Sutan Uderan collective farm, whose activity was focused on reindeer herding and hunting. In the same year many houses were built.

Infrastructure

The village has a kindergarten, school, boarding school (the only polyethnic school in Russia), a hospital, a bakery, shops, a boiler room, which in 2008 failed at a temperature of −45 ° C [11] , a cultural center, and since 1994 The ethnographic museum about the history, culture and traditions of the peoples of the tundra also works.
