History
In November 2006, Edwin Hodabaccian co-founded DevHD. [1] The company intended to create a platform that uses RSS feeds, online storage and integration with social networks in order to display information that is interesting to users. [1] DevHD's first development, Streets, which collects updates from various online sources, became the foundation of the future Feedly. Feedly, which has been optimized for RSS feeds, was first released on June 15, 2008. [1] The service was originally called Feeddo and was introduced as an extension for browsers, but then it was transferred to the web platform, and applications for mobile platforms were also released. [2]
On March 15, 2013, Feedly announced about 500,000 new users who began using the service in connection with the announcement of the closure of Google Reader . [3] On April 2, 2013, the number of users was already about 3 million. [4] At the end of May 2013, the number of users was 12 million. [5]
