The bridge has historical and military strategic importance, since it is one of the few crossings across the Jordan connecting the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee .

Archaeological site
An analysis of the findings discovered by archaeologists from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem , Germany and the United States showed traces of settlements of the ancestors of the early Paleolithic people who lived on this site already 790,000 years ago [1] [2] . Studies of the parking near the modern bridge of Jacob's daughters, conducted in 2009, prove the use of fire by representatives of the species Homo erectus or Homo ergaster about 790-690 thousand years ago [3] . The inhabitants of this place, along with fish and meat, consumed up to 55 different species of plants, including water lily seeds, cattails , thistle seeds, fruits of the keep-tree and acorns of the oak of Kaleprinsky and [4] [5] . Many seeds and roots were subjected to heat treatment, which, in particular, is evidenced by fried acorns and baked cane stalks. In winter and spring, they ate beets and mallow leaves [6] .
