Biography
Anton Karasev was born on February 25, 1909 in the village of Stary Pond (now - the Sebezhsky district of the Pskov region ). In 1924 he moved to Leningrad , where he graduated from two courses of the labor faculty , after which he worked at the Kirov plant . In 1932, Karasev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1934 he graduated from the military aviation school of pilots in the Volga Military District , in 1941 - Higher Courses for Advanced Training of the Navy Aviation Command. Since 1941 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By the summer of 1942, Captain Anton Karasev was deputy squadron commander of the 57th assault air regiment of the 8th bomber air force of the Baltic Fleet . By that time, he had made 59 sorties to attack accumulations of military equipment and manpower, destroying 43 tanks, 113 vehicles, 51 anti-aircraft artillery guns, 4 field artillery batteries [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 14, 1942 for captain Anton Karasev for the "exemplary performance of command missions of the command on the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism", he was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 650 [1] .
He participated in the Soviet-Japanese war . After the war, Karasev continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1953, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Leningrad. He died on May 25, 1980, was buried at the Novo-Volkovsky cemetery in St. Petersburg [1] .
He was awarded two orders of Lenin, three orders of the Red Banner , orders of Alexander Nevsky , Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
