Biography
Charles Dawson Butler was born November 16, 1916 in Toledo ( Ohio ). Father - Charles Allen Butler, mother - Ruth Butler. In the late 1920s, the family moved to the town of Oak Park , where Charles became interested in Impressionism as a humorous performance on stage ( Impressionist (entertainment) ). Since 1934, the future actor began to try himself in this field in small competitions and achieved significant success. In 1941, he went to the front, served two years in the navy, it was in the war that he met his future wife Mirtis Martin, with whom he lived for about 45 years until his death. From this marriage, the couple has four children: David, Don, Paul and Charles.
For the first time, Dawes Butler tried his hand at voicing cartoons in 1943 in the short film “ What is the fuss, buddy?” ", And as a result, over 45 years of his career, he gave his votes to dozens of characters in more than 310 cartoons and animated series. From 1943 to 1957, Butler worked for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer , and then until his death at Hanna-Barbera .
