Paremiography (dr. Greek παροιμία paroimia - parable, proverb and γράφω - "I write") is a section of paremiology that collects, records and publishes small genres of folklore (proverbs, sayings, sayings, parables, etc.).
Paremiography originates from ancient times. Even Aristotle was credited with the first records of proverbs. Proverbs were written by Greek, Alexandrian, and Roman scholars. In 1500, Erasmus of Rotterdam publishes a set of ancient proverbs “ Proverbs ”. Later scholars continue the work of collecting and studying ancient proverbs.
