Biography

Soviet theater and film actor Vladimir Volchik was born on November 6 ( November 19), 1917 .

From 1933 to 1935 he studied at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (LIJSA) . In 1938 he graduated from acting school at the studio "Lenfilm" . In 1938, he appeared in episodes in two historical-revolutionary films: “The Vyborg Side” by Grigory Kozintsev and Ilya Trauberg and “The Man with a Gun” by Sergei Yutkevich .

Passed the Great Patriotic War [1] After demobilization in 1943, he continued to work in the cinema. In 1944, in the film directed by Lev Arnshtam " Zoya " played the secretary of the RK VLKSM Shilov.

Then followed the films “The Elephant and the Rope” (1945) by director Ilya Fraz and “The Island Nameless” (1956) by directors Adolf Bergunker and Mikhail Egorov. In 1949–1950, he worked at the Kirov Regional Drama Theater named after SM Kirov , then, from 1950 to 1952, at the Leningrad New Theater , from 1952 to 1956, he continued to work at the Leningrad Theater of the Baltic Fleet.

In 1955 he returned to the set, and in 1958 he was again accepted into the state of the film studio "Lenfilm". In less than 25 years he played in 60 films.

He retired in 1979.

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR (Leningrad Branch).

He died on May 16, 1981. buried at Vagankovo ​​cemetery .
