Biography and scientific activities
Born on October 9, 1935 in the city of Cherven, Minsk Region, BSSR. In 1945, she moved with her family to Brest, where she graduated from high school with a gold medal eight years later. From 1953 to 1958 - a student of the Faculty of Geography of BSU. V. I. Lenin; upon graduation received a diploma with honors. From 1958 to 1960 she worked as a soil technician and soil engineer at the Institute of Soil Science of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the BSSR; from 1960 to 1963 - graduate student of the Department of Physical Geography, BSU (supervisor - professor Vasily Dementiev ).
Since 1963 he has been working at the geological faculty of BSU in the scientific and pedagogical fields. In 1966 received a Ph.D. in geographical sciences; in 1970 - the title of assistant professor. In 1992 she became a doctor of geographical sciences, and in 1994 received the title of professor. Since 1995, he is a member of the Council for the defense of dissertations at BSU; from 2001 to 2011 - also at the BNTU . Since 2001 she was the head of a number of scientific projects (mainly in the field of fundamental and applied landscape science). In addition, he takes part in the implementation of educational projects under the international Tempus program, having got acquainted with the experience of preparing bachelors and masters in higher educational institutions of the EU countries and visiting a number of famous universities there [1] .
During her teaching career at the BSU she taught about 10 general and special courses for students of geological faculty, including “Landscape Studies”, “Landscapes of Belarus”, “Use of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection”, “Teaching about the Environment”, master's course “Landscape-ecological analysis". He currently teaches landscape science (for 2nd year students) and modern problems of landscape ecology (for graduate students).
The sister of Galina Martsinkevich - Irina Schastnaya (Ph.D., associate professor) - also works at the geological faculty of BSU, teaching a number of related disciplines.
Publications
In total, 320 publications were published under the authorship and / or co-authorship of Galina Martsinkevich, of which 10 monographs, 8 textbooks and teaching aids, about 130 landscape maps of various sizes (including landscape maps of Belarus for secondary school), about 160 scientific articles and a number of abstracts on various conferences of republican and international level [2] .
