Aircraft

An-24B with tail number 46248 (serial number 77303206) was released by Antonov's plant on March 23, 1967 . In total, at the time of the crash, the airliner had a total of 4557 flight hours and 4789 landings [1] .

Holocaust

The plane was supposed to carry out flight N-826 along the route Voroshilovgrad - Dnepropetrovsk - Vinnitsa - Lviv . Piloted his crew, consisting of a commander (FAC)V.A. Kapulovsky , co-pilot V.V. Sinitsyna and the flight engineer V.N. Gavrilenko . The stewardess worked in the cabin V. Ya. Hidden . At 15:47, the airliner took off from the Dnepropetrovsk airport . On board were 51 passengers: 42 adults and 9 children [1] .

At this time, the weather conditions over the Dnepropetrovsk region were as follows: 4–6 cumulus clouds with a lower edge of 1,500 meters and an upper edge of 2,700 meters, visibility 10 kilometers. At 15:58, the crew reported to the dispatcher about occupying the echelon of 3600 meters (assigned along the route - 5100 meters). In response, the dispatcher gave permission to occupy the level of 4200 meters. The crew did not report on occupying this altitude, so at 16:06 the dispatcher himself tried to contact the board, but there was no answer [1] .

An-24 was 4000 meters high, when one of the blades (No. 2) came off on the left propeller and hit the fuselage in the region of 10-11 frames. After breaking through the skin, she cut through the control rods elevators , directions and ailerons . Due to an imbalance, the left screw came off together with a part of the gearbox. Having completely lost control, the aircraft with a left roll began to decline, and then, with increasing speed and roll, began to enter a steep spiral. Having completed one and a half turns, at about 4 p.m. the airliner crashed into the ground and exploded at an angle of 45-50 ° and at a speed of 500-550 km / h. An-24 crashed in the Dnepropetrovsk region near the village of Preobrazhenka, Krinichansky district (according to other sources, near the village of Vasilkovka, Vasilkovsky district ). A missing blade was found 4.5 kilometers from the place of the plane’s crash, and the left screw was found 1120 meters from the blade and 4 kilometers from the plane. All 55 people on board the airliner died [1] .

Reasons

The Commission concluded that the blade separated due to mechanical fatigue in the presence of corrosion- type shells [1] .
