Biography
He started his career in his native club from the city of Falun . At 17, he was noticed by the breeders of the MODO club and invited him to his place. In 1979, Junsson became the champion of Sweden. In 1981, the defender went to the NHL . In his first season, he won the Stanley Cup in the New York Islanders , and the next season he did it again. In total for the American team, Unsson played 8 seasons. In 1989, he played 20 games for the Edmonton Oilers , after which he returned to his homeland. From 1989 to 1998, Unsson defended the colors of the humble Lexand . It was from this club that the defender received a call to the national team for the 1994 Olympic Games , which became victorious for the Swedes. The player ended his career in his native Falun, in which he played a farewell match. In 2000 he was included in the IIHF Hall of Fame .
Quickly enough, Junsson was re-trained as a coach. From 1998 to 2000, he was an assistant to the head coach of Lexanda. Then he worked in various youth national teams of Sweden, at the same time leading the Falun for many years. From 2009 to 2013, Unsson was a member of the coaching staff of the Danish national team . There he was invited by the famous Swedish specialist Per Beckman, who headed the team.
