Description
Tariatu-Chulutu is located on the basaltic lavas of the Baikal rift zone . Lava flows have four ages from the Miocene to the Holocene , they form terraces along the Chulutu River, Pleistocene basalts form 40-60 meter terraces in the Tariatu Basin. In the west of this volcanic field are six slag cones , including the volcano Khorgo and Zan Tologai. Lava erupting from the volcano Horgo blocked the Chulutu River. At the same time, Terhiyn-Tsagaan-Nuur Lake was formed .
