Biography
Youth
Lant was born in London . After participating in the Dwarfstar school group (from the English "Dwarf Star"), Lant joined the Guillotine group (from the English "Guillotine") in 1978. In it, he became a guitarist and met Jeffrey Dunn (also known under the pseudonym Mantas). In 1980, the original bass player left the band a week before the concert, and Lant started playing bass guitar parts, and the band changed its name to “Venom”. In 1981, vocalist Clive Archer left the band, and Lant also assumed the vocalist's duties. Since that time, he has been performing bass and vocals in the Venom band.
Solo career
Lant left Venom in 1988, becoming a solo career, periodically participating in groups of the same genre as Venom . For example: Cronos , Enthroned , Cradle of Filth (Kronos read the final monologue for the song "Haunted Shores", the album Dusk ... and Her Embrace ), Warpath , Massacre and Necrodeath . He also produced some of the albums of other groups.
They tried to continue Venom without Kronos, but their albums sold poorly, and few people came to concerts. In 1995, Kronos revived the original Venom lineup, and the band headlined the Dynamo Festival in 1996, before 90,000 fans.
Last Activity
In 2000, the group became the headliners of the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and played a concert in the Netherlands, after which the group was forced to take a break, as Kronos fell from a great height in 2002. Due to this injury, he could not sing and play bass for several more years. [2] To pass the time, Kronos began to engage in game programming and 3D-modeling. He worked as the main multimedia manager at K-Class Systems and Globalfibre.tv.
Around 2003, Kronos re-assembled Venom with his brother drummer, under the pseudonym Antton, and rookie Michael Alan Hickey. After several years of preparation and intense training, Venom released Metal Black in early 2006 and embarked on a world tour. Also, Venom became headliners at the Gods of Metal 2006 festival (Italy) and performed their classic song “Die Hard” together with Phil Anselmo , a member of Pantera and Down . Also, Kronos participated in the side project of Dave Grohl - Probot , in 2004.
Some sources say that Kronos is the brother of Mary Lant - the mother of the Duchess of Cambridge , [3] however this is nothing more than a hoax. The mother of the Duchess of Cambridge is not Mary Lant, but Carol Goldsmith Middleton. [four]
