Gombozhavyn Ochirbat ( Mong. Gombozhavyn Ochirbat , born November 15, 1929 MPR ) is a Mongolian political, trade union and statesman. For a short time, the Secretary General (later Chairman) of the Central Committee of the MPRP in 1990-1991.

Biography
Born in the fall of 1929 in the somon Numreg aimaka Zavkhan . In 1949 he joined the MPRP. He studied at the Mongolian State University , Moscow State University . In 1958-1960 he taught Russian at the Mongolian State University.
Subsequently, he was the head of the ideological department of the Central Committee of the MPRP, then the chairman of the Central Council of the Mongolian trade unions, in 1989-1990 - the representative of the MPRP in the editorial office of the Problems of Peace and Socialism in Prague.
On March 14, 1990, at the plenary session of the Central Committee of the MPRP, the political bureau and the secretariat of the Central Committee of the party, led by Zhambin Batmunkh, collectively resigned, and Gombozhavyn Ochirbat was elected the new General Secretary of the Central Committee of the MPRP. At the extraordinary congress of the MPRP held in April 1990, the name of his post was changed from “Secretary General of the Central Committee” to “Chairman of the Central Committee”. In February 1991, he was replaced by Budragchaagiin Dash-Yongdon . By this time, the MPRP had lost its former weight in Mongolian society.
In 2011, he was awarded the title Hero of Labor of Mongolia .
