Biography
Childhood
Konstantin Konstantinovich Alkalaev was born in Libava on December 14 (27), 1901 [1] . At birth, he bore a double surname - Alkalaev-Kalageorgii , but after the revolution, like most of his closest relatives, he left only the first part of the surname [2] .
Father - Konstantin Konstantinovich Alkalaev-Kalageorgiy (1866 - c. 1921), a graduate of the Imperial School of Law (1888) [3] , the son of Konstantin Nikolaevich Alkalaev-Kalageorgiy (1825-1885), the Yaroslavl police chief. Mother - Agatha (Agafya) Ivanovna Korkh (1871-1941), granddaughter of P.N. Zamyatnin . The family had four children: Lyudmila (1892 - c. 1980), Vladimir (1894-1938; like his father, he graduated from the School of Law [4] ) and the twins Konstantin and Elena (1901-1987).
Father K.K. Alkalaeva was a member of the Warsaw Court of Justice for several years (at the end of his career he rose to the rank of full state adviser ), so the family at that time lived in Warsaw , on Marshalkovskaya Street . In the first half of 1914, Agata Ivanovna with her youngest children went on a trip to France , where they found the beginning of the First World War . They returned from France to Moscow , forcibly leaving all their property in Warsaw.
Civil War
During the Civil War, Alkalaev fought in the ranks of the Red Army on the Eastern, Turkestan and Southern fronts, was marked by a number of government awards. His marriage to Elena Alexandrovna Anders (1905–1924), the daughter of Alexander Karlovich Anders , the former chief of staff of M.V. Frunze, dates to this period. From this marriage - daughter Elena (1924-1990), who married Oleg Vsevolodovich Chizhov (1926-2008), grandson of D.M. Markelov and V.A. Chizhov .
Between Wars
In 1921, Alkalaev entered the medical faculty of the Kharkov Medical Academy . In 1924 (obviously, after the death of his wife) he moved to Moscow, where his parents, sisters and brother had moved to this time, and transferred to the medical faculty of the first Moscow State University , which he graduated in 1927.
Shortly after graduation, he organizes and leads the maxillofacial hospital in Vladivostok , while also managing the city dental clinic and teaching at the dental school.
Around 1932, he married Lyudmila Eduardovna Markelova (nee Jungans, 1905-1982), but they soon parted.
In 1935, he married Maria Yakovlevna Mizerna (1915-2001), with whom they had three children - Vladimir (1935-1991), Boris (1937) and Olga (1939-2018).
In 1939, K.K. Alkalaev defended his thesis on the topic "Sidedentography in the clinic of odontogenic infections" and became an assistant professor at the Department of Surgical Dentistry of the Voronezh Dental Institute.
World War II
During the war , he served with his third wife in front-line hospitals (he is a surgeon, she is a nurse). By the end of the war, he was promoted to major in the medical service. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star (1944) [5] and the Order of the Patriotic War II degree (1945) [6] .
After the war

In 1951 he was appointed director (rector) of the Irkutsk Medical Institute (in 1952, the dental institute was transformed into the dental faculty of the medical institute). In 1966, K.K. Alkalaev defended his doctoral dissertation and received the title of professor.
The scientific direction of the school of Professor K.K. Alkalaev is the treatment of malignant tumors of the maxillofacial region and neck. For many years, K.K. Alkalaev was the chairman of the board of the Irkutsk Regional Scientific Medical Society of Dentists. He is the author of over 100 scientific papers. Under his leadership ten master's theses were defended.
He was awarded state orders and medals, including the medal "For Military Merit" (1967) [7] .
He died in Irkutsk in 1973.
