Biography
Pantelei Ivanovich Demin was born on June 15, 1924 in a peasant family. He graduated from grade 4 in 1936 . He worked on a collective farm. Member of the CPSU since 1946. In the Red Army since December 1942 . At the front - since March 1943 . Particularly distinguished during the liberation of Ukraine , the crossing of the Vistula and the storming of Berlin .
Minesweeper of the 172nd Guards Rifle Regiment ( 57th Guards Rifle Division , 8th Guards Army , 3rd Ukrainian Front ) guards, Private P. Demin during the battles of December 15, 1943 - January 7, 1944, 17-20 km east village Loshkaryovka Sofnensky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, together with his comrades, removed more than 300 enemy mines, completed 6 passes in wire fences, set about 1,500 mines in front of our front line. February 16, 1944 awarded the Order of Glory 3rd degree.
On August 1, 1944, while commander of the sapper department of the guard, Sergeant Demin P.I. composition of the regiment. On August 27, 1944 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In street battles in the city of Berlin on April 16, 1945, Sergeant Demin P.I. with his squad made 6 passes in the enemy’s barriers, neutralized about 70 minutes. April 24, 1945 blew up 2 bunkers with fighters, made several passes in anti-tank barricades. May 15, 1946 awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
In March 1947, the guard Sergeant Major Demin P.I. was demobilized. He returned to his homeland. In 1948-1949 he studied at the Konstantinovsky Agricultural School, received the qualification of "veterinarian paramedic". He worked as a veterinary technician on a state farm, as a foreman of a field farm brigade. He currently lives in the village of Meshkovskaya, Verkhnedonsky district, Rostov region .
