Vyacheslav Pavlovich Kovrigo ( May 6, 1928 - April 19, 2017 ) - Soviet and Russian agronomist , rector ( 1964 - 1988 ) of the Izhevsk Agricultural Institute (IZHI, ISHI). Founder of the world's only Problem Research Laboratory of Soil Magnetism. He is the author of more than 160 scientific papers , including co-authors, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Udmurt Republic , the International Slavic Academy of Sciences, Education, Arts and Culture, and others.

Biography
Born May 6, 1928 at the Talovaya station (now Voronezh region ).
In 1951 he graduated from the K. A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy with honors, majoring in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, qualification - scientist agronomist . Supervisor - S.P. Yarkov. From 1952 to 1955 he studied at the graduate school at the Department of Soil Science of the Moscow Agricultural Academy, in 1955 he defended his thesis on the topic: “Northern chernozems of the Moscow region” and received the degree of candidate of agricultural sciences .
Since 1955 , after the successful completion of graduate school , - at the Izhevsk Agricultural Institute (IZHI, ISHI):
- from 1955 to 1957 - assistant ,
- in 1957 awarded the academic title of associate professor ,
- from 1957 to 1964 - Head of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science,
- from 1962 to 1964 - Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy,
- from 1964 to 1988 - rector of IZHSHI,
- in 1983 was awarded the academic title of professor in the department,
- in 1983 awarded the degree of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences ,
- from 1980 to 1990 - head of the department of agricultural chemistry and soil science,
- from June 1990 to 2017 - professor at the Department of Agrochemistry and Soil Science, as well as the supervisor of the Problem Research Laboratory of Soil Magnetism [1] .
For achievements in the development of agriculture in Russia, he was awarded many distinctions.
Vyacheslav Pavlovich had many hobbies, the oldest - opera and symphonic music; in addition, he loved to sing, especially romances , as well as Italian and Russian folk songs [2] .

Family
He was married, had two children, a grandson and two granddaughters.
