Biography
Vladimir Kanareev was born on June 12 (in the new style - 25 ) at the station " Sofiyivka " (now - within the city of Volnyansk, Zaporozhye region of Ukraine ). He received a primary education, after which he worked in factories in Volnyansk and the city of Sverdlovsk in the Voroshilovgrad region of the Ukrainian SSR . In 1936 - 1938 Kanareyev served in the Navy of the USSR. In 1942, he was again called up for service. From the same year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By June 1944 sergeant of the 2nd article Vladimir Kanareyev commanded the detachment of the 66th detached squad of smoke disguises and degassing of the Dnieper military flotilla . Distinguished during the crossing of Pripyat [1] .
Kanareev participated in five amphibious operations on Pripyat - in the areas of settlements Skrygalovo , Belkovichi , Petrikov , Doroshevichi , Pinsk . During the battles for Petrikov and Pinsk, the landing party under his command destroyed 7 pillboxes and several machine guns , a large number of German soldiers and officers, and released about 200 Soviet soldiers captured. Working together with other units, the group repulsed 27 enemy counterattacks [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 7, 1945, for "exemplary performance of the combat tasks of the command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" Gold Star Medals No. 5878 [1] .
After the end of the war, Kanareev continued his service in the Navy of the USSR. In 1968, in the rank of midshipman, he was dismissed. He lived in Pinsk. He died on November 26, 1973 [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
The name of V.G. Kanareyev is one of the streets in Pinsk .
