Geography
The city is located in the southwestern part of Uttar Pradesh, at an altitude of 144 meters above sea level [1] . Jaloun is located approximately 165 kilometers southwest of Lucknow , the state’s administrative center, and 330 kilometers southeast of New Delhi , the country's capital.
Demographics
According to the 2001 official census , the population of the city was 50,033 people, of which 53.3% were men, 46.7% were women. The literacy rate of the population was 63.8%. The literacy rate among men was 71.9%, among women - 54.5%. 15.4% of the population were children under 6 years of age [2] .
