History
Protestant communities began to appear in post-Soviet Russia in the early 1990s. Since April 1992, the community rented the building along Club Street, but then the question arose about building their own church. A competition was announced for the design of the building, the winners of which were the spouses of the Shavalievs - Airat Fathulovich and Nella Mansurovna.
The construction of the church began in 1998. It was financed mainly from the funds of the Protestant church itself, as well as donations from foreign churches in Scandinavia. The church building was only erected in 2011, but two years passed before permission was granted to operate the building. The permission was obtained in court in accordance with the decision of the Arbitration Court of the Udmurt Republic on the lawsuit of the Philadelphia Church to the Inspectorate of the State Construction Inspection on August 17, 2012. The court recognized the refusal to issue a conclusion on the compliance of the building of the House of Prayer with the requirements of the law and design documentation, and the decision of the Inspectorate Gosstroynadzor refuse to issue an opinion - illegal.
The grand opening of the church and festive services lasted 3 days from January 25 to 27, 2013. The senior pastor of the church, Bishop Pavel Zhelnovakov, bishop of the Russian Union of Christians of the Evangelical Faith (Pentecostals) Sergey Ryakhovsky took part in it. The authors of the project, spouses Shavalieva, were invited. The festive concert was attended by the Avis Cantu Academic Choir Chapel, the Izhevsk Municipal Chamber Choir named after P. Tchaikovsky, the church choir and other performers.
