Doe Ying

Lan Ying (Chinese 蓝 瑛; 1585-1666) is a Chinese artist from the Ming Dynasty , a representative of the Zhe School.

Lan Ying had the pseudonyms Tianshu (田 叔), Diesou (蜨 叟), Shi Toutuo ( 石頭陀). The son of Lan Ying - Lan Yu and grandson of Lan Shen when they grew up, also became artists.

Born in Qiantang (modern Hangzhou, Zhejiang). There is practically no information about his life. It is believed that during his life he almost did not leave his native region and from a young age began to paint, becoming subsequently the leading painter of the "Zhe School". He died in 1666.

About 90 works by Lan Ina have been preserved, most of them are made in the genre of shan-shui (Chinese 山水, "painting of mountains and waters").
