Shigua ( Chinese р 拐 п , pinyin : Shíguǎi ) is the urban subordination district of the Baotou urban district of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region ( PRC ). The name of the area is the Chinese transliteration of the Mongolian word “sheygut”, meaning woodland.

History
In 1949, the Shiguaygou (石 拐 沟 矿区) aimag Ulanchab mining region was formed here. In 1956, it was transferred under the jurisdiction of Baotou and renamed the Shiguay Mining District (石 拐 矿区). In 1999, the mining district was transformed into an urban submission area.
