“It's Called a Heart” (translated from English - “This is called the heart”) is a song by the British band Depeche Mode , a non-album single. The fourteenth single in the band's discography. Released on September 16, 1985 . The first single Depeche Mode, one of the versions of which contained two media (in this case, phonograph records) in one package. One of two new songs included in The Singles 81 → 85 , along with Shake the Disease. The single took 18th place in the UK charts.

About the song
According to Martin Gore and Alan Wilder , “It's Called a Heart” is the most “unloved” Depeche Mode song, among all ever released by the group, and not very well received by its fans. A documentary featured in a reissued version of Black Celebration 's album says the band wanted to release the song “Fly on the Windscreen” as a single, but Mute Records didn’t like the idea because the song begins with the word “death” ( English death ). Therefore, the re-recorded version of the song ("Fly on the Windscreen - Final") was included in the Black Celebration album, which was released next year.
The video for the song “It's Called a Heart” was directed by Peter Cair [2] , the location of the shooting is corn fields in Berkshire (England).
