The Dakar Series is a collection of annual off-road motor races (mainly rally raids ) organized by the Amaury Sport Organization (ASO). Year of creation - 2008 [1] .
The Dakar series is not a championship - each competition held as part of the series is an independent finished race. The results shown by athletes in one race of the Dakar series do not affect their position in other races of this series.
From 2009 to 2011, the Dakar series included the Silk Road Rally . In 2012, ASO officially announced the termination of cooperation with its Russian partner - the KAMAZ-master team, which is one of the co-founders of this rally. The result of this was the deprivation of the Silk Way rally of the status of the competition held as part of the Dakar series [2] .
