Church of St. Nicholas
In the village there is a unique white stone church, built on the high bank of the Lena in 1898-1905. According to the Siberian tradition, the church was named in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
In the first years of Soviet power, the church was not touched, but in 1938 its destruction began. Then the building of the church was transferred to the needs of the collective farm - a warehouse for the subglot. And after the start in the 1950s in the village of oil exploration, a club was needed. In 1956, with the help of local youth and a brigade of Komsomol members from the Kirensk Pedagogical School, the church was reconstructed as a club. In the late 1990s, the club closed.
Famous residents
The natives of the village were the world-famous neurosurgeon Academician Fyodor Uglov and the Hero of the Soviet Union, Lieutenant-General Peter Turneuve.
