Early life

Douglas Wick was born into the family of actress Mary Jane (Woods) and USIA Director Charles C. Wick.

Career

In 1979, Wick got his first movie job when he worked as an assistant producer in Alan Pacula 's film , " Start Again ." Wick's first independent work as a producer was in the 1988 film Business Girl . In the next film, Wolf , Wick worked with Mike Nichols , who directed The Business Girl, before he became the producer of the 1996 film Witchcraft .

In 1999, Wick produced the film " Interrupted Life ", praised by critics, and the film " Stuart Little " with large fees. The following year was Wick's biggest success, the movie Gladiator . For this film, Wick received Oscars , Golden Globes , and BAFTA awards , all of which were awarded for "Best Picture." Also in 2000, Wick was the producer of the science fiction hit " Invisible ."

Over the next few years, Wick was the producer of Spy Games , Peter Pan (the first film based on a fairy tale by J. M. Barry ), Stuart Little 2 , the sequel Stuart Little, and A Date With A Star . In 2005, Douglas Wick produced the films The Marines and The Memoirs of a Geisha , as well as The Witch and another sequel to Stuart Little, Stuart Little 3: The Call of Nature . In addition, Wick created the films RV and "Invisible 2", the sequel to "Invisible", in 2006 .

Wick and Lucy Fisher have become producers of the films The Most Drunkest County in the World and The Great Gatsby .
