Glock 20

Glock 20 ( Glock-20 ) is a self-loading pistol of the company Glock chambered for 10 mm Auto . Due to the more powerful cartridge used, it is about 165 grams heavier than the Glock 17 pistol , it is also 5 mm longer (209 mm vs 204 mm) (barrel 3 mm (117 mm vs 114 mm) ), 1 mm higher ( 139 mm versus 138 mm ) and wider by 2.5 mm (32.5 mm versus 30 mm) [4] [1] . Other Glock models for this cartridge are the subcompact Glock 29 and the target Glock 40 with an elongated barrel [5] .

Design

Glock 20 has a design identical with other Glock pistols (with the exception of Glock 25 and Glock 28 pistols using a different principle of automation - the principle of free shutter). Automation of the gun works on the principle of using recoil with a short course of the barrel, the bolt is unlocked when the barrel is skewed in the vertical plane due to the interaction of the figured groove in the tide of the breech of the barrel with the gun body. Locking is done by entering the rectangular breech of the barrel into the window for ejecting cartridges. The trigger mechanism is shock, with partial cocking, and dobling with each shot. There are three automatic fuses: the trigger fuse blocks the movement of the hook backward, releasing it only when you press the trigger directly; one fuse of the firing pin makes it impossible to shoot when the firing pin is broken, the second blocks the firing pin until the trigger is released, the gun has no manual fuses. The frame of the gun is made of polymer material [6] .

Options

  • Glock 20C - is equipped with a compensator at the muzzle end and holes in the shutter-casing under them, which reduces the weapon’s jump during firing [7] .
  • Glock 20 SF - characterized by a reduced width handle. SF variants also exist for Glock 21 , 29 and 30 [8] .
  • Glock 20 Gen 4 - model 21 of the fourth production generation, contains the following differences:
The handle has a standard RTF design, but compared to the third-generation RTF2 pistols, there are larger gaps between the points - 25 points per cm², instead of 64 for the RTF, and the points themselves are larger [8] .
The back of the handle is made in the form of a separate replaceable part called the “back plate” ( back strap ). A standard minimum SF part ( short frame ) is installed. Complete with a gun are two additional parts M ( medium ) and L ( large ), which can be installed instead of the standard. Part M increases the distance to the trigger by 2 mm, L - by 4 mm. Thus, they can improve the ergonomics of the handle arrows with longer fingers. To change a part, it is required to remove the fixing pin, for which purpose a special tool is provided in the kit [8] .
The magazine latch button has become larger and more convenient. Also, it became possible to rearrange it on the right side (more convenient for left-handed shooters). In this regard, a second window under the latch tooth appeared on the right side of the fourth-generation pistol shops. Pistol magazines of previous generations can be used in fourth-generation pistols, but only if the button is installed on the left [8] .
Instead of one return spring, the fourth generation pistols began to install two springs of different diameters (on one guide rod). In this case, the load arising from the recoil is distributed more evenly, the survivability of each individual spring increases, and the recoil perceived by the shooter decreases [8] .
Unlike previous generations, the fourth one has the corresponding marking on the shutter - Glock 20 Gen4. Currently, Glock 20 is available only in variants of Gen4 and SF [5] .
