The flag shows a five-pointed star on a blue background. Inside the star there is a 2-2-0 type locomotive (according to the ) - 4-4-0 “American” . This is due to the fact that in the late XIX - early XX centuries, steam locomotives of this type were widespread on the American continent , in particular they drove trains to the city. Approved in 1915, the flag was a slightly modified previous version of the flag of the city, adopted back in 1840 . The reason was the change of locomotives: a steam locomotive of type 2-1-0 , common in 1830-1850, was replaced by a steam locomotive of type 2-2-0, shown on the flag to the present.
