Vetar or Perai ( Atauru, Adabe, Tutunohan ) is an Austronesian language spoken north of the villages of Moning, Timor, Uhak on the north-east coast of Vetar island in the south-west of Maluku province in Indonesia, as well as on the nearby islands of Atauro and Liran , the latter belongs to East Timor .

The Aputai language ( Ilputih, Opotai, Tutunohan ) is spoken in the village of Lurang, on the coast of the Vetar Strait in the south of the central island of Vetar and in the village of Ilputih, on the coast of the Banda Sea in the north of the island of Vetar , also in two villages in the south-west of Maluku province. There are dialects of Velemur, Ilputich, Lurang, Moning, and ear. 93% similar to dialects, 79% with Perai, 74% with Tugun, 69% with Yiwun, 57% with Galolenian languages.
The Iliuun language ( Erai, Hahutan, Hahutau, Ili'uun, Iliun, Ilmaumau, Limera ) is spoken in the vicinity of the island of Lirang, on the southwestern peak of the west coast of the island of Vetar and in the villages of Ilmaumau, Istutun, Karbubu, Klishatu, Nabar, Telemar, Eray, Esulit in the southwest of Maluku province. It has dialects of ilmaumau, carbuba, clichate, nabar, telemar, ustutun, eray, esulit.
The Tugun language ( Mahuan, Tutunohan ) is spoken at the southwestern end of the island in the west of the Barat Dai archipelago of Vetar Island and in the villages of Arvala, Ilvay, Ilkopil, Kakhailin, Masapun, Mahuan, Tomliapat in the southwest of Maluku province. There are dialects of arval, ilvai, ilpocil, cahailin, masapua, mahuana, tomliapat.
The Vetarian language has three dialects: raklungu (in the southwest), rahesuk (in the north), and resuk (in the southeast). The fourth dialect, dadua, is spoken by the descendants of a group of the Atauran people who moved to Timor , to the villages of Manatutu County.
The language is closely related to the language of the Galoli, spoken in Timor , on the north coast near the island of Atauro .
