Biography
Oleg Klyuchnikov was born on July 11, 1966 in Voronezh . He graduated from high school. In 1985-1987 he served in the border troops of KTPO on about. Sakhalin military unit 2067. Demobilized, he went to serve in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. Since 1988, he served in the riot police at the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Voronezh region . He graduated from the Oryol Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He made two missions to North Ossetia and five missions to Chechnya , participated in the battles of the first and second Chechen wars [1] .
In April 2002, Klyuchnikov went on a fifth trip to Chechnya. Repeatedly participated in military clashes with separatist forces. On June 17, 2002, together with four riot policemen, he set up an ambush in the area of the village of Chozhi-Chu , which included a gang of fifteen militants. In an unequal battle, Klyuchnikov and his comrades inflicted heavy losses on them. By ordering his comrades to change their position, he fired artillery fire on himself with a flare. From the wounds received, Klyuchnikov died on the battlefield. Thanks to his actions, the group managed to maintain their positions until reinforcements arrived. He was buried at the Comintern cemetery of Voronezh [1] .
By decree of the President of the Russian Federation of September 9, 2003 for “courage and heroism shown during the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus region”, police major Oleg Klyuchnikov was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Russian Federation . He was also awarded two Orders of Courage and four medals [1] .
