Nikola Grulović ( Serbohorv. Nikola Gruloviћ ; December 4, 1888 , Beshka - February 19, 1959 , Belgrade ) - Yugoslav politician, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, chairman of the Republican Assembly of the Assembly of the SR of Serbia and the Ambassador of the SFRY in Finland.

Biography

Born December 4, 1888 in Beshka (now Vojvodina). He graduated from high school, studied at the shoe maker. In 1906 he joined the syndical movement, in 1910 he was admitted to the Social Democratic Party. During the First World War, as part of the Austro-Hungarian army, he fought on the Eastern Front, was captured. During the Civil War he joined the Yugoslav Volunteer Corps, but later switched to the Bolsheviks. Together with Maxim Chanak , Nikola Kovachevich and others, he formed the Yugoslav Revolutionary Union in Kiev, in 1918 organized a small Red Guard detachment, served in the 1st Communist Yugoslav Regiment of the Red Army, and held the post of political instructor there. He joined the secretariat of the Yugoslav Communist Group of the RCP (b).

In January 1919, Nikola, together with Lazar Vukichevich and Lazar Manoilovich, returned to the country. Upon returning to Yugoslavia, he participated in the congress of the Socialist Workers' Party of Communists. In Vojvodina, he worked in the Pelagic communist society, leading it. In November 1920, he was elected to the Assembly of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes from the Communist Party, was also a delegate from Yugoslavia to the Third International . Since 1935 he worked in the Serbian branch of the Communist Party.

In 1941, he entered the People's Liberation War of Yugoslavia , during the war he held the post of member of the Supreme Headquarters of the NOAU , was a member of the Anti-Fascist Council for the People's Liberation of Yugoslavia, and also was a member of various anti-fascist organizations of Vojvodina. After the war, he worked in the Allied Control Commission in Bucharest, was an adviser to the embassy of the SFRY in Moscow, and was the ambassador of Yugoslavia in Finland. Later, he headed the Republican Assembly of the Assembly of NR of Serbia, was a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Socialist Union of the Working People and the Council of Veterans of the People's Liberation War.

He died on February 19, 1959 in Belgrade . He was buried in the Alley of Popular Heroes at the New Cemetery in Belgrade (he did not receive the title of Popular Hero). He was awarded a number of medals, including the Partisan Memory Medal, the Order of Brotherhood and Unity, and twice the Order of National Liberation (the only double holder of this order). After his death in 1962, his book “Yugoslavs in the War and the October Revolution” ( Serbian Apostles at the City Hall and the Okto-Bars Revolution ) was published.

He also had a younger brother, Achim .
