Biography

Graduated from high school; In 1995 he entered the service of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Since 1999, after graduating from the Saratov Military Institute of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation , he served in the special unit "Rosich" of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

He participated in the hostilities during the second Chechen war . In early March 2000, as part of the detachment, they stormed the village of Komsomolskoye , where over 1000 fighters of Ruslan Gelayev were blocked. A group of Lieutenant Yafarov, having captured a fortified house at the intersection of streets, ensured the advance of Russian units into the village, but was cut off by militants from the main forces. Lieutenant D. Yafarov personally destroyed several Mujahideen, brought out from under the fire of a wounded grenade launcher; was wounded, shell-shocked, but remained in service. During a breakthrough on March 6, 2000, he was killed by a sniper shot in the head. Buried at home.

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of July 7, 2000, for the courage and heroism shown during the counter-terrorism operation in the North Caucasus, Lieutenant Yafarov Dzhafyas Dzhafyarovich was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

Memory

  • The name of Jafyas Yafarov was assigned to the school in which he studied; in 2003, the Museum of Military Glory named after the Hero of Russia D. D. Yafarov was created at this school [2] .
