Biography
Born on March 26 ( April 7 ), 1819 , in the village of Malyy Listvo of the Chernigov province . The father, Dmitry Andreevich Dunin-Borkovsky (1793–1836) [1] is a participant in the battle of Borodino and the translator in the verses of Moliere’s “School of Men” [2] . A year before Vasily, his elder brother Yakov was born; after him, sister Nadezhda was born (1820–?) - who was married to A.I. Lizogub , and brother Peter (1822–1846) - whose wife was the artist Glafira Ivanovna Psel [3] .
In 1836 he graduated from the 1st silver medal at the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum [4] . In June 1837 he entered the service of an official for a letter to the office of the Committee of Ministers .
In 1838, he was appointed secretary under the director of the State Treasury Department. In 1841 he was granted the title of the chamber junker of the court of His Imperial Majesty.
The actual state councilors were produced on July 29, 1860 [5] . He was a member of the government of the Chernihiv provincial on peasant affairs presence [6] .
In the period from 1865 to 1870 Dunin-Barkovsky was Yekaterinoslav Governor [7] . At that time, in 1868, he was dismissed by a petition from the State Treasury Department and appointed to the Chernihiv nobility deputy assembly and honorary superintendent of the 1st Pogorsky district school, and in 1869, according to a petition, he was dismissed from the noble assembly and honorary superintendent of the county school [8 ] .
In 1870 he was appointed Mogilev Governor . From March 28, 1871, he held the rank of privy councilor ; March 30, 1872 dismissed from the post of governor. Consisted at the Ministry of Internal Affairs [5] .
He died on October 20 ( November 1 ) of 1892 in Kiev and was buried in the village of Velikiy Lichivnoe of the Chernigov province [2] .
Family
He was married twice: the first marriage to Sophina Alexeyevna Svechina and the second to the daughter of A. G. Miloradovich , Alexandra Alexandrovna (10.8.1835, Chernigov -?). He had five sons and four daughters [2] , among them: Dmitry (1848–?), Alexey (1850–?), Alexander (1866–?) [3] .
