Biography
Sergei Shiryaev was born on June 17, 1867 in the Saratov province. Came from the middle class. The Orthodox faith, received education at home and in the Nikolaev engineering school in the first category. He entered the service on August 31, 1883 after passing the full-course exam in the Nikolaev Cadet Corps to the Nikolaev Engineering School as a cadet. On February 26, 1884, he was promoted to non-commissioned officer, and on August 11, 1886, he was assigned on assignments with transfer to the 2nd Engineer Caucasian Battalion, with seniority on August 14, 1884. September 24, arrived at the battalion, March 15, 1887 was appointed head of the infirmary and the transit unit.
On August 3, 1887 he was appointed head of the non-commissioned officer and drawing class of the battalion school, on December 24, 1887 he was sent to the headquarters of the railway brigade. On January 3, 1888 he was sent to a new place of service, on February 5 of the same year he was assigned to the 4th railway battalion, and on February 20, 1887, he was teaching in the telegraph-galvanic class. August 1 transferred to service in the 4th railway battalion. On August 9, he went to hold the entrance exam to the Academy of Engineering, on September 28, after failure to pass the exam, he was excluded from the list of examiners, and on October 24 he arrived at the battalion.
From March 21 to September 17 Sergey Fedirovich Shiryaev was sent with the technical railway team to the Warsaw Military District to guard the railway in the Privislyansky Territory. July 27, promoted to senior officers, August 14, 1888, clerk of the battalion court since October 2, member of the officer society court on October 12, 1889 appointed railway property manager, workshop manager on November 20, and battalion camp manager on June 6, 1890 buildings and depot. On January 23, 1895 he was appointed master of the officer brigade assembly. May 12, 1895 he was sent to Sevastopol to conduct experiments with access railways. December 12, 1895 took office as head of the railway property. August 1, 1899 promoted to Headquarters Captains. From October 6 to October 28 he was sent to Lublin for experiments with field railways. August 1, 1900 promoted to captain.
He was transferred by the commander to the 2nd personnel company of the 4th railway battalion to fulfill the qualification for production. On the night of February 24-25, he temporarily commanded the railway battalion, which defended the Mukden station and worked to evacuate this station in the immediate vicinity of the battle, which ran along the entire line south and west of the station and was under the command during the armyβs retreat from Mukden strong fire of the enemy artillery, while driving the mouth in marching order along the Mandarin road and at the height of Detachment No. 97 and Hishitai Station. He crossed the border and entered the borders of Manchuria on June 17, 1904. February 26, 1904 Sergei Fedorovich Shiryaev was promoted to lieutenant colonel with the transfer to the 3 railway battalion.
June 20, 1906 as part of the battalion went to Moscow to operate the Savyolovskaya branch of the Moscow Yaroslavl-Arkhangelsk railway. April 9, 1907 went on a business trip under the command of the commandant of Moscow. From September 6 to November 5, he built the Izhora Military Railway as part of the battalion. On January 5, 1910 he was sent on a business trip to Dmitrov to fulfill the position of head of the security team. June 25, 1911 promoted to colonel.
Sergei Fedorovich Shiryaev was dismissed from service for domestic reasons.
