Biography
Alexandra Sea Pelosi was born on October 5, 1970 in San Francisco ( California , USA ), becoming the youngest of five daughters in the family of the famous American politician Nancy Pelosi .
Alexandra graduated from Loyola Marymount University and the University of Southern California .
Career
In 2000, Pelosi worked as a television producer for the NBC presidential campaign, covering George W. Bush’s presidential campaign. She brought with her portable camcorders documenting 18 months of her experience during the election campaign; frames were used to create Travel with George, a documentary that earned her six Emmy nominations.
After spending ten years at NBC News, she left the news network to work exclusively on HBO. During the democrats' primaries in 2004, she returned to the coverage of the election campaign, this time observing Democratic candidates. Her documentary on HBO, The Political Tourist’s Diary, accompanied her book, “Getting into the Flying Circus: How the Media Turned the Presidential Campaign into a Freak Show,” about the process of selecting candidates for the presidency of the United States. She stated that her conversations with CNN's Candy Crowley, Howard Dean, and Wesley Clark inspired her to write a book.
In 2006, she created a documentary on evangelical Christians called Friends of God, which was shown by former pastor Ted Haggard. After broadcasting on HBO in 2007, she made a follow-up film, Tests of Ted Haggard, and a chronicle of the expulsion of Ted Haggard from the New Life church after his sex and drug scandal.
In 2008, Pelosi returned during an election campaign to document the birth of the party movement in the republican campaign events for her film “Right America: Offended Feelings - Some Voices from the Electoral Campaign,” which premiered on HBO on President’s Day 2009.
CNN reported in July 2010 that Pelosi was no longer making political documentaries. Her 2010 HBO film Homeless: Children of the Orange County Motel.
In 2011, HBO premiered the next Pelosi movie in the next film, US Citizen: 50 State Road Trip. Pelosi traveled all 50 states during the filming.
Personal life
Since June 18, 2005, Alexander has been married to journalist Mikhil Vos (b.1974). The couple has two sons - Paul Michael Vos (b. 11/14/2006) [1] and Thomas Vincent Vos (b. 07/12/2007).
