Story
Screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Gustave Flaubert . The action takes place in France , in the 40s of the XIX century . The film tells about the “education of feelings”, about the formation of the character of a young man, about the mores of people, about their passions, about platonic love and earthly love. Frederic Moreau, at the age of 18, comes from the provinces to Paris , where he meets Jacques Arnoux and falls in love with his wife Marie, who, although she reciprocates the young man, cannot change her husband and destroy her family. Subsequently, Frederick met the courtesan Rosanetta, who becomes his mistress, falls in love with him and gives birth to a child from him (who soon dies). But Frederick quickly cools to Rosanetta and leaves her. Frederic's next hobby is Madame Dambreuse, the wife of a wealthy industrialist. Many years later, Frederic Moreau and his friend Charles Delorier meet by chance and recall their young years, telling each other about their plans and remembering their unfulfilled dreams with nostalgia.
