Harit Mountains [1] ( lat. Charitum Montes ) - a mountain range on Mars that borders the Argir plain from the south. The center coordinates are , length - 930 km [2] .

These mountains inherited the name from the albedo detail Cape Harit ( Charitum Promontorium ) - the light protrusion of Argyr from the south-western side. This cape, in turn, was named by Giovanni Schiaparelli in honor of Harit - the three ancient Greek goddesses of joy and fun [1] . The name Charitum Montes was approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1973 [2] .
The Harit Mountains are located south of the Nereid Mountains , bordering the opposite edge of the plain of Argir. At the eastern end, they are bordered by the 224-kilometer "emoticon crater" Halle and the 64-kilometer crater Kamloops. Crossed by several dry river valleys running from the south and flowing into the plain: Surius Vallis , Dzigai Vallis and Pallacopas Vallis , connecting with Nia Vallis .
Gulls
At some latitudes of Mars , ravines are often found. As a rule, they are located on steep slopes - the walls of craters or other depressions, but are also found in the Harit mountains.
Scientists believe that the ravines on the Harit mountains are relatively young, since craters are rarely observed on them and they lie on top of the sand dunes - young relief details.
