Biography
Born in Baku in the family of Ozias Moiseevich Lerner and Rebekah Isaakovna Lerner. After graduating in 1953 from the Moscow Regional Art College. 1905 , two years he studied at the State Art Institute named after V. Surikov in Moscow, then transferred to the art faculty of VGIK , which he graduated in 1959. Got a specialty as an artist of animated films.
Since 1960 - production designer of the Soyuzmultfilm movie studio . Working with leading Soviet directors such as Mikhail and Vera Tsekhanovsky (“Fox, Beaver and Others” (1960) and the full-length cartoon “ Wild Swans ” (1962), Yefim Hamburg ( Spy Passion (1967) and Origin of the Species (1966)) and others, passed the best school of animation.
He made his debut as a director at the Tajikfilm studio , where in 1972 he directed the film Affendi, the Donkey and Thieves [1] . Since 1973 he worked at the Multitefilm studio in the Ekran Creative Association . The first directorial work at the new studio immediately brought success with colleagues and popularity with the audience. These were two episodes of the mini-series The Adventures of Munchausen , which had previously been launched on Multitefilm: The Accurate Shot (1973) and Peacock (1974).
In the early 1980s, Nathan Lerner became interested in creating puppet films and achieved notable success. Lerner's best film of these years, “ Little Devil # 13 ” [1] .
Especially for him, scripts were written by Alexander Kurlyandsky , Arkady Khait , Eduard Uspensky , Lyudmila Petrushevskaya , Marina Vishnevetskaya .
