Luis Moreno Ocampo ( Spanish: Luis Moreno Ocampo ; born June 4, 1952 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) - Argentinean lawyer , Doctor of Law. Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court ( 2003 - 2012 ).

In 1978 he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires . From 1980 to 1991, he worked in the Office of the Attorney General of Argentina, as the prosecutor participated in trials of the military junta and in anti-corruption cases. He supported the indictment against military commanders who exceeded official powers during the war for the Falkland Islands [1] .
From 1992 to 2003, he practiced law at the law firm Moreno Ocampo & Worthman Hofre . Moreno Ocampo is also an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Law at the University of Buenos Aires and was once a visiting professor at Stanford University and Harvard Law School. He has acted as a consultant to the World Bank , the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United Nations. [1] He was a member of the advisory board of Transparency International .
In 2003, he was elected the first Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. After the expiration of the nine-year term of office on June 5, 2012, he resigned, and Fatu Bensuda, a Gambian lawyer, took his place [2] [3] .
